and I am happy to report I've officially crossed off one of the things on my list...
Alongside the smokehouse portion of this dining establishment is their 4Rivers Sweet Shop.
It's loaded with oversized delicious desserts that are not for the faint of heart.
There are giant cakes, cookies, milkshakes, pies, unique cupcake flavors - like Mountain Dew with the icing rolled in Doritos... and more! (You can even order some fried Oreos while you are dining in the Smokehouse).
Here's what we brought home with us...
Oversized Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie
Why this? Because it was obnoxiously large, I love peanut butter + chocolate, it was unique
and I'm totally inspired to create some dipped cookies like this! *wink*
This is just the beginning...
Keep reading for the rest of the yummy details...
Birthday Cake Cupcake
Ella's pick of the night...I think the sprinkles and cherry on top would win over any 4 year old!
Oreo Cream Cheese Mini Cake
The sweet manager sent us home with this as a thank you for visiting them for the first-time.
Which happened all because J was praising the friendliness and warmth of the staff...
to who he thought was one of the waitresses - she was actually the manager!
Glass Bottle Sodas
They've got a fantastic selection of glass bottle sodas to choose from - including a few "Vintage" brands
Sioux City Sarsaparilla Root Beer
This is the drink I chose and it did not disappoint.
These next 3 photos were taken with my iPhone using the Leme Cam app...
Cupcake Milk Shakes
I did not try this but I'm VERY curious about these make-your-own shakes.
How-to: Pick any cupcake. Pick any milk shake. Shake it up!
Now back to the desserts we brought home with us...
Inside the gigantic Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie...
If you are in the Central Florida area...
I highly recommend visiting one of the three locations for 4 Rivers Smokehouse; Longwood, Winter Park and Winter Garden
It's makes for a great family night and if you love desserts as much as I do...
how about meeting some girlfriends up there for a sugar-fix. *wink*
A huge thank you to the management and staff at the Longwood location for their friendly service - it was such a breath of fresh air compared to the usual "I hate my job" attitudes I seem to encounter on a regular basis at other establishments.
And the girls in the Sweet Shop didn't seem too annoyed by my photo-taking and video-making while I was there! *wink*
Speaking of video-making...
Are you on Vine yet?
Are you on Vine yet?
It's quite fun, actually.
Create 6.5 second videos, upload and share.
Basically like an in-motion Instagram feed.
Find me after you've downloaded the Vine App.
WARNING!!
As with all new apps - be cautious as you "Explore" other users.
There are perverted people out there who manage to try and ruin things with seriously inappropriate material.
I personally haven't experienced it...yet...
but I can tell you I pretty much stick with the people I know. (it's a shame, isn't it)?
KEEPiNG iT REAL
We tried the Fried Oreos...just for the experience of it.
Definitely not my favorite but it was fun to try them - just to say I've tried them. *wink*
