I'm back with one more deconstructed halfway-homemade, last minute mini holiday dessert idea to help keep you out of the kitchen and mingling with your family, friends and guests.
You can whip up these impressive little bites in minutes and they are packed with flavor!
This MIGHT be my favorite deconstructed dessert idea I've shared...since it's all about my favorite flavor combination: chocolate + peanut butter. (not to mention it includes my very favorite candy bar: Snickers Peanut Butter Squared).
Chocolate + Peanut Butter Oreo Mini Pies
These are so seriously easy…you can thank me later.
Here's what you need to make them...
INGREDIENTS (for 10-12 Mini Chocolate + Peanut Butter Oreo Pies)
1 - 15oz. Package Peanut Butter Oreo Cookies, crushed with rolling pin.
1 Batch of Easy Peanut Butter Frosting (see this post)
12 oz. frozen whipped topping
12 Snickers Peanut Butter Squared Candy Bars, chopped (and thick slices for garnish)
1 - 12oz. Jar Hot Caramel - for drizzling
INSTRUCTIONS
Place crushed oreo cookies into your mini cups or dessert bowls for the "crust" portion of your mini pie. (I used approximately 2 cookies per bowl). Spoon or pipe on peanut butter frosting. Add a dollop of whipped cream. Sprinkle with chopped Snickers Peanut Butter Squared and drizzle on the caramel. Insert a thick slice of Snickers Peanut Butter Squared for a perfect finish.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Presentation Ideas:
Wrap your serving bowls with a thin strip of kraft paper. Secure with double stick tape. Wind some thin brown cording (or raffia or ribbon) around the bowl several times directly on top of the kraft paper strip. Serve with cute wooden spoons and you've got an adorable treat to present to your guests.
Which "deconstructed" halfway homemade recipe did you prefer most:
Mini No-Bake Pumpkin Cheesecakes
Salted Caramel Mini Apple Pies
or today's Chocolate + Peanut Butter Mini Pies
I like them all for different reasons.
I'm not sure I can pick one winner - they are all winners in my halfway homemade cookbook! *wink*
KEEPiNG iT REAL
Two of my girls are now sick. Coughs, sore throats and up for most of the night last night.
Why does it always seem my kids get sick right before a holiday - it's always either Thanksgiving or Christmas - seriously!?
But just like the #shesaid quote I posted in My Instagram Feed this morning: "She is the Glow" - and I will glow today no matter what! *wink*
