It rained ALL day the day we had Ella's Rainbow Unicorn 5th Birthday Party. (but of course you would never know that since I haven't posted party details yet). *blushing*
Anyway, because of the rain, I wasn't able to get any great photos of Ella on party day in the polka dot birthday dress I had made for her! But it all worked out because I knew I wanted to be able to include some fun photos in the thank you notes I still haven't sent out AND since I ended up not incorporating this fabulous diamond clear 36" balloon into the party details I knew a birthday photo shoot using that amazing balloon was a no-brainer! The next weekend I...
filled the balloon with this confetti and tied on these tissue tassels leftover from the dessert table. I got Ella dressed and we headed out to the gazebo located in the middle of our neighborhood for her special birthday photo shoot. Here's what we came away with...
The first seven photos above were my picks to have printed to include in the thank you cards.
But here are some of my other favorites that didn't make the "Thank You Card Cut"… *wink*
She insisted on including "Elphie" in the photo shoot - with a coordinating polka dot dress, mind you.
This is her polite "are we done yet" smile...
She's showing me how old she is here…
Oops! Dropped Elphie!
I love how she's standing in this photo with her Hello Kitty boots…laughing through the balloon.
And now some black and whites
I love my little Ella Scarlet…
She is absolutely one of the sweetest little girls in the entire world.
She's mild-mannered, patient, thoughtful, considerate, has a beautiful imagination, incredible disposition and I don't know how her petite frame is able to contain her gigantic heart of gold. I tell her all of the time how I hope she always stays as sweet and kind and loving as she is right now.
KEEPiNG iT REAL
Ella got tired of having to hold the balloon during the photo shoot….she said it was heavy! *wink*
Also, the "crystal clear" balloon began to take on a "cloudy" look as the photo shoot went on. Not sure if that was from the humidity in the air or the direct sunlight or the combination of the two - just wanted you to know in case you decide to use these at outside events.
Honestly, the best photos of her were the ones when we just acted silly together and I just laughed with her and wasn't so serious about getting just the right photo. I need to remember that and apply it to every day life too! *wink*

Hi there "Unknown" - Thanks for being here and for your inquiry! I'd love to put together a tutorial about using the tassels as a balloon garland! Stay tuned!!
Thank you Mindy!! LOVE the balloon too!! The confetti inside makes it that much cuter!! So glad you are here and I appreciate the comment!
Totally loving the polka dots! She's a precious little cutie. And that confetti balloon with fringes is so pretty!
Thanks Nicole! I love how the polka dot dress turned out so I'm happy you love them too - along with the polka dot confetti in the balloon. The tissue tassels were one of my favorite accents - it just adds even more magic to the balloon! *wink* Someone asked for me to post a tutorial on how to add those tassels so I'll be doing that soon!
The combination of polka dots and the fabulous tassels is darling!
Thanks for sharing! You did an amazing job with the balloon. I want to try making one for my little guy too!
